Incorrect database or cursor. VB-> Q+E ODBC->INET->TCP/IP

I'm writing a VB app that uses ODBC to talk to a RS6000 running Informix OnLine 5.02. Informix's ISTAR connectivity package is on the database server. Each client has Informix's "middleware" INET PC and Q+E ODBC driver. [One of] the biggest hurdles is the error I mentioned on the subject line. This error occurs when there are 3 are more connections to the database. To make it occur, you can create a new form with 4 data controls, each pointing to ODBC with the same Data Source Name. When the program runs, an Informix error is returned for the 3rd data control--"Incorrect database or cursor name format." I have noticed that JET is multiplexing database connections, and using multiple statements. (Even though there are 4 controls, there is only 1 connect process running on the AIX server.) It appears to be losing track of its statements somewhere causing the "invalid cursor." The same error occurs when using Access-attached tables. Has anyone seen this before? What other issues might I run into when developing VB apps using ODBC, INET, and Informix? Many Thanks, Mike Lester USAA Investment Management Company
