Bill, We are running V7.11 and I have never heard of such a facility. Nor can I find any indication in the manuals about this capability. Where exactly did you get this information because it could be quite useful. I know that in V7.2 or 7.3 they intend to release the ability to create and drop indexes on the fly without locking the table but I have never seen anything about being able to switch off an index and then have it catch up later.
