If Richard has hit upon your problem you could try creating a data = definition query in MSaccess on the attached table. I seem to remember = that this works. You can't use table design to add the index as it won't = let you, but you can do it via a Data Definition query. =20 rgds Peter Tashkoff. >>> Richard Spitz <richard.spitz@ana.med.uni-muenchen.de> 2/04/98 03:06:05 = >>> Howard Wittenberg wrote: > >ODBC requires that a table have a unique key if it is going to be=20 > >updatable. > Thanks for the posting. I wish that was it. We have a number of=20 > tables and they all have Primary Keys. What are the names of the primary keys resp. the names of the=20 associated indexes? I remember hearing about a problem that MS Access doesn'tt recognize these primary keys or index files if their names start with a blank (or was it an underscore?) and Informix assigns such invalid names when a primary key constraint is used. The workaround is to manually create the unique index and giving it a name that Access can recognize.
