I have no experience with DG, but the basic rule of seperate disk for rootdbs, physical logs, and logical logs. If true DSS, you may have logging turned off. I suggest rootdbs, physical logs, logical logs on RAID 1, or use RAID 5 with Informix mirroring. Spread across disk and controllers. You do not want to lose this data, if it can be avoided. Place your data tables on RAID 5 devices spread across disk and controllers. Place your indices and temp dbspace on RAID 0. Best use of disk, but you are screwed if disk goes bad. But indices are easily re-created and TEMP space is just that. Basic rule: Divide and conquer. Perform Level 0 backups. Good luck....
