HELP ARCHIVE!!

I want to be able to make an archive of a database (without stopping the database server). This archive will allow us to start another database server. This is what we've done (an for the moment it didn't work): We have 2 database server: the backup and the communication server. they have the same dbspace and database configuration: dbspace database rootdbs (small) admdbs (small) adm logdbs (very big) log (not the the logfile!!!) temp_space(temporary dbspace) Each night an archive and a backup of the dbspaceset=(rootdbs,admdbs)is made (by onarchive) on the communication server (it is done online, we can't stop the server), and is copy on the backup server. We don't archive the logdbs because it is to great and we don't need the database log. We want to recreate the log database from scratch. The problem is : when we are doing the recover with ondatartr on the backup server, the log database still exist and we cannot drop it!! (message: 311 cannot open system catalog (systables) + 115 ISAM error ...) I try to drop the the logdbs and to recreate it, it becomes online but the problem with the log database still exists!! What can we do??? Thanks for any kind of help.
