I got a call from Informix about a message I left at their Web site *weeks* ago, saying that the account doesn't become active until midnight the next night. Obviously I tried long after that period. BUT I JUST LOGGED IN TO THE TECHINFO CENTER! THEREFORE, A RETRACTION IS IN ORDER: I guess it really is free. So just call their number and ask. Of course, the Knowledge Base link on the TechInfo page is under construction and not selectable <sigh, grimace>.
