Archecker
Posted in 2003
So I find 15 unlabeled tapes surrounding a dual tape
device at a
customers site.
None have labels.
Using onlog, archecker and tar, I managed to identify most as archives,
logical logs, or tar.
I have a few that are not logical logs (onlog reports tape format not
recognized).
They are not tar tapes.
Archecker gives me the following (can be 2, 4, 5 != 1, archive would
easily fit on one tape)
I have matching values from onconfig in ac_config.std (it is possible
tapes are very old and have different block sizes, but I would not
expect the following message).

tcopy finds a couple thousand records on the tape.
Dbimport could not read the tape either (guessed on sql file).
Any information is greatly appreciated!
I have educated the customer on labeling, storing and rotating archive
and log tapes.
Thanks!
