Online 7.10 performance on Stratus and others

My employer has recently installed Informix 7.10 on a fault tolerant Stratus R15 dual processor with FTX 2.3, for testing purposes. We are suffering from a severe performance degradation when more than one query/update thread accesses the database simultaneously. Informix and Stratus experts are working on it. Similar tests by Informix on a HP machine do not show this degradation. Did anyone out there with Stratus/Informix experience have similar problems?
