However, if you are using I-STAR, and someone calls the remote engine to do a sort based on data only from the remote machine, the temp file will be created on the remote machine in a location controlled by the DBTEMP in the environment set when you start the sqlexecd daemon on that machine. In this case the DBTEMP on the client side doesn't have any effect.
