How do I check the validy of a level 0 Archive (ontape)

Hi all,
I am running Informix 7.31 on a HP-UX box (OS: HP-UX 10.20)
I currently back up one of my server instances using 'ontape -s -L 0' and
it seems to work fine.
What I would like to know is how can I tell that it has *really* worked
without having
to perform the actual restore.
If I dump some records from tape I can see the Informix Archive
header......
Is there any Archive checking utility that I can use that will put my mind
to rest?
Is it possible to perhaps simulate a "dummy" restore. ie. Have the restore
process
go through the motions but without actually physically writing the chunks
back to
disk?

Search for archecker in the archives. I does a pretty good job. It
tends to slow my machine down (as much or more than a backup during
production hours) and I do not fully understand why. If you do it
during off hours, you'll never know the difference. Takes about as
long as the backup (2 hours for backup - 2 hours for archecker).
Hope this help. Please read the archives. It has all of the details
on setup and running, and it is how I got started using it (so it must
be pretty easy).
