Problem with .net
Posted in 2011
A user on IDS 11.50 (Windows) couldn't get .NET/OLE DB connectivity working. First, the OLE DB setup scripts failed because doledbp.sql (from a newer CSDK) tried to drop tables like informix.oledbversion and oledbordinals that didn't exist; Everett Mills advised commenting out those DROP lines, after which both scripts ran. However, testconn20 still failed to reach the server even though WinSQL and ILoginDemo connected fine. Suggestions covered firewall/ping checks, matching sqlhosts protocol/port, and using the TCP service name (svc_ids_1150_1, port 9088) instead of the shared-memory name ol_ids_1150_1. None of these worked and the thread ends with no resolution recorded.

Hello, I`ve go to problem with .net connection. I readed the two scripts should be run in database the doledbp.sql and coledbp.sql. I cant run any of them. Im connecting qith WinSql and try to run coledbp... and: Error: The specified table (informix.oledbversion) is not in the database. (State:S0002, Native Code: FFFFFF32) Im quite sure that sysmaster table exist. What can i do with this? Im working on 11.50 IDS Piotr
Piotr- It appears you tried to use the doledbp.sql script from a newer version of CSDK to clear out the ole objects from an old version of CSDK. Try commenting out the "drop table Informix.oledbversion" line in doledbp.sql and rerun it. You should then be able to run coledbp.sql successfully. --EEM >-----Original Message----- >From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of >NONE PIOTR >Sent: Monday, May 16, 2011 7:35 AM >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: Problem with .net [23715] > >Hello, >I`ve go to problem with .net connection. >I readed the two scripts should be run in database the doledbp.sql and >coledbp.sql. > >I cant run any of them. >Im connecting qith WinSql and try to run coledbp... and: >Error: The specified table (informix.oledbversion) is not in the >database. >(State:S0002, Native Code: FFFFFF32) > >Im quite sure that sysmaster table exist. >What can i do with this? >Im working on 11.50 IDS > >Piotr > > >************************************************************************ >******* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum.
Hi, I removed line "drop table informix.oledbversion;" next I try to run script with negative effect. Im getting error like this: The specified table (informix.oledbordinals) is not in the database. (State:S0002, Native Code: FFFFFF32) What can I do next? Piotr
You'll probably have to comment that out as well. --EEM >-----Original Message----- >From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of >NONE PIOTR >Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 1:50 AM >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: Re: RE: Problem with .net [23733] > >Hi, I removed line "drop table informix.oledbversion;" next I try to run >script with negative effect. >Im getting error like this: The specified table (informix.oledbordinals) >is not in the database. Hi, i run both scripts on my db, but I still got problem with testconn20 Here is screan shoot from moment i try run testconn, if u can please, look on this. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/863/beztytuupr.png/ Hope this will help to resolve the problem. Piotr
This seems to say it can't find the server on the network. A few things to try: Ping 10.10.10.67 from your client machine to make sure the server isn't firewalled, etc. Check the sqlhosts and services on your client and server. The protocol onsoctcp, etc. and port numbers must match to make a connection. Try the ILoginDemo program bundled with CSDK and see if you can connect that way. You will have to change the name of the stores database to something that exists on your server. --EEM >-----Original Message----- >From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of >NONE PIOTR >Sent: Wednesday, May 18, 2011 8:06 AM >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: Re: RE: RE: Problem with .net [23750] > >Hi, >i run both scripts on my db, but I still got problem with testconn20 >Here is screan shoot from moment i try run testconn, if u can please, >look on this. >http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/863/beztytuupr.png/ > >Hope this will help to resolve the problem. > >Piotr > > >************************************************************************ >******* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum.
Hi, I try to connect with iLogin and winsql(i run scripts from winsql) Both clinents correctly connects to db, i can modyfy tables, procedures etc. The firewall isent problem, i try to connect from localhost, so network settings arent problem(I hope they arent:)
Hmmm. Maybe something not right about your .Net connection string. Or something completely different. Anyone else have some ideas? --EEM I'm adding back in some of the old conversation for those not in the loop (always include at least what you're responding to since a lot of the readers on this list don't archive the emails after they've read them): >>Hi, >>i run both scripts on my db, but I still got problem with testconn20 Here is screan shoot from moment i >>try run testconn, if u can please, look on this. >>http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/863/beztytuupr.png/ >>Hope this will help to resolve the problem. >This seems to say it can't find the server on the network. >A few things to try: >Ping 10.10.10.67 from your client machine to make sure the server isn't firewalled, etc. >Check the sqlhosts and services on your client and server. Hi, maybe this will help, few screen shoots below, http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/844/connstring.jpg/ <- detailed conn string. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/339/installlog.jpg/ <- install log & pice of netstat -a Hope this will help to understand the problem.
Try svc_ids_1150_1 and port 9088 or svc_drda_1 instead of ol_ids_1150_1, which appears to be the shared memory name. --EEM >-----Original Message----- >From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of >NONE PIOTR >Sent: Thursday, May 19, 2011 8:19 AM >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: Re: RE: RE: RE: RE: Problem with .net [23773] > >Hi, maybe this will help, >few screen shoots below, > >http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/844/connstring.jpg/ <- detailed >conn string. >http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/339/installlog.jpg/ <- install log >& pice of netstat -a > >Hope this will help to understand the problem. > > >************************************************************************ >******* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. I tryed with service names u suggested, and still nothing, I think different ports wont work. Netstat isent showing open ports, but anyway i tryed, still nothing... Realy this problem is killing me, i can bet this is super simple problem...
