Not the DATE data type but the built-in function DATE. DATE returns a string in American data format -- Oct 04 1996 or thereabouts. DATE() converts its argument to a date value -- it should be used for converting strings, or DATETIMEs, to DATE(), but implicit conversions deal with most of the problems anyway. TODAY returns a date value for today. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
