Infrequently, JDBC reads of a Smart Blob return null bytes. That is blob.getBytes() returns null without throwing any exception. Sometimes subsequent reads of the same blob returns valid bytes, leading me to believe the smart blob is valid within informix. Network and JDBC issues are my prime suspects. What is causing blob.getBytes() to return null without throwing an exception?
