9.21.FC4 to 9.4 xxx upgrade questions

I have a couple of questions about upgrading to 9.4 from 9.21 and I would also like any general comments about how it goes. Is the upgrade worth the trouble? What are the gotcha's to look out for? How stable does 9.4 seem to be? What other question should I have asked about the upgrade and what is the answer to it? ;-) I would like to use a couple of funtional indexes and they seem to be broken in 9.21.FC4. Do they work better in 9.4 as support implied to me? Thanks for any help?

Regression to 9.21 does not work. Fixed in 9.40 FC4, due out in April. Index builds are slower. I shall send you the Ardenta newsletter in which we cover the gotchas we found in testing. > How stable does 9.4 seem to be? Aside from the absence of regression, OK.
With one of our 9.40 installs on Solaris 8 everything goes through the mgm unless you set MAXPDQPRIORITY=0 in the onconfig. All the other sites seem to be stable. Can't comment about Neils experiences with regression, all ours were imports Cheers Paul Curtis Crowson wrote: > > I have a couple of questions about upgrading to 9.4 from 9.21 and I > would also like any general comments about how it goes. > > Is the upgrade worth the trouble? > What are the gotcha's to look out for? > How stable does 9.4 seem to be? > What other question should I have asked about the upgrade and what is > the answer to it? ;-) > > I would like to use a couple of funtional indexes and they seem to be > broken in 9.21.FC4.
