DLT Tape Drive Performance

Folks, We're trying out some new DLT tape drives running on engine 5.03.UC2 on IBM RS6000 machines/AIX 3.2.5. Having heard about some tremendous backup speed improvements with DLT's and Informix, I wanted to get any insights you all have to offer. Our initial test used a tape block size of 32768 and what was a 7.5 hour backup then took 5 hours on the DLTs. I've heard of others who have gotten much better performance improvement than we have seen so far, and wanted to get any suggestions anyone has to offer on how to get more improvement from our Informix & our DLTs.
