This is a quick summary of setting it up but you really need the manual( DB Cockpit user manual) that comes with Online 7.1 1. Add a service to your /etc/services file eg. cockpit 19999/tcp ^^^^^ - This number must be unique in the file. 2. Set your INFORMIXSERVER environmemt variable to the correct one for network access (NOT onipcshm) in your sqlhosts file. 3. Set your xhosts permissions so the results can be diaplayed on your X terminal. 4. Start Onprobe by typing onprobe. 5. Start OnCockpit by typing oncockpit. Sit back and watch your system... Another interesting tool in 7.1 is Onperf, type onperf on an X terminal.
