Problem with multiple connections.

Hello, everyone! I have a Java program, that uses Informix JDBC driver to create a pool of connections with Informix database(let's say 100).When the program executes it only opens a certain number of connections about 50 and then fails giving the error msg Attempt to connect to database server (Java socket exception encountered:Too many open files) failed. Error code: -908 SQL State : 08004 However, when I run the program on 2 or more instances of JVM all of them open the same limited number of connections (50), i.e. the database server allows more than 100 simultaneous conections. The problem appears regardless whether the program runs on remote host or on the same machine where I have the engine. Is it limitation of JVM, JDBC driver, or IDS? OS:Solaris 7, IDS 7.31, JDK 1.1.7 Any help is appreciated.
