With Informix 7.10 I thought Informix-Net is obsolet, because i can connect to the engine via RPC's . But at Intersolv a guy told me, that i neeed Informix-Net or Informix-Star Software. Now I'm confused, is that right? Why don't they talk to the RPC-port of Informix online7.10 ? When I ordered the ODBC-Driver for Informix Online 7.10, I was convinced, that I wouldn't need any more Software.
