acego, param, char field with spaces

I would like to pass a char type argument to acego with that argument defined as a command line parameter. The basics work, except where there is a space in the char field input, e.g % acego -q myreport "12345" > tempfile but not % acego -q myreport "AB 12345" > tempfile No matter how I try to escape the quotes it fails Anyone have any suggestions? When i put \\"AB 12345\\" the error returned is failure to run report control file "12345".arc" ! Other instances appear to run the report on the argument AB. I shall investigate further, but is there something obvious I am missing?
