7.3 and statistics problems on AIX

hi, interesting situation at a customer site. bring the engine up, run update statistics and things run pretty good. within a couple of days,performance decreases further and further, until the only answer they have found so far is to bounce the engine and run update stats again. the only thing that seems to keep them up and going is to run update stats low on all the tables, having dropped distribuitions from the previous runs. sounds odd, but it is the best they can do so far. i am a little lacking on other info as i haven't been in there yet, but that is what i have so far. sounds pretty strange, and informix hasn't been much help to them so far. anyone seen anything similar? i'd like to gather as much info as possible before i go in. thanks, mickm -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a signature file.
