Hi Henri: You nedd at least the Informix Connect component in the web server, and more probably the CSDK . As you don't says wich OS is your web server on, neither the brand of the webserver itself, I'll explain what could I do in my Linux/apache/PHP environment. <pseudo PHP code> echo "<table><tr><th>server<th>state"; foreach ( $arrayofserver as $dsn) { echo "<tr><td>$dsn<td>"; $conn = ifx_connect($dsn, ...) if ($conn) { echo "UP"; ifx_close($conn); } else { echo "DOWN"; } } echo "</table>"; </code> HTH ----- Original Message ----- From: <henri.straforelli@customerworks.net> To: <informix-list@iiug.org> Sent: Friday, January 16, 2004 2:51 PM Subject: How to check if remote db is up or down? > I would like to create a simple webpage that lists the status of all > our informix db instances. > > The page will be located on a web server WITHOUT informix installed. > > Is it possible to remotely check and see if a particular instance is > up/down?
