Re: Question

I'm not certain that the name of the administrator group is the problem. I've never worked with the Spanish language version of NT, though, so I could be mistaken. However, assuming that DS 7.3 is not looking for the actual group name 'Administrator' this is what you can do: The login you use when you install has to be a member of the _local_ administrator group on the NT server, because that's where (in my experience) Informix looks for administrator permission. The DS 7.x series does not, as far as I know, search through the domain structure to determine privileges. At our shop we use only member servers as database servers, so using the domain groups never enters into the equation. I have seen shops that use the _global_ domain admin group logins, and I think the install will work if the login you use when you install Informix resides within that global group which is itself inside the local admin group. (is that sentence too long?) As long as the administrator UID you use to install resides in the _local_ administrator group on the server you should have no problem installing DS 7.3. This may mean that you have to login to the server and not to the domain to get the job done. In DS 7.3 the command line utilities are not called that. The Start-Programs-Informix Admin Tools option that calls the 'setenv.cmd' (like command line utilities) is named for the name of the database server. If you called your dbserver 'ol_<something>' you should find that option in the list of Informix admin tools, down more than halfway through the list of options. If you don't like that, you can always make your own option or shortcut on the desktop using the 'setenv.cmd' which resides in %INFORMIXDIR% (e.g. C:\\Informix), just like the online.log and sagent.log -- Don H.
