Hi,
An SE engine is just a bunch of files... if you're just wanting to change location, you can simply move the directory just like you would the contents of any other directory. You only need to use dbexport/dbimport when simply moving the directory doesn't work ;-)
The date in the database doesn't have a format -- format of the date is a function of the client... part of GLS to be to precise. The "date" stored in the database is a number which represents the offset from some specific date.
There are some other postings on how to find the rowid of a bad row, basically by elimination. With a date, I would think you can also get the job done by selecting the number representation and looking for what doesn't make sense, which I would think would be either a really large or small number (excluding whatever is used as a NULL value).
For example, the stores7 demo database has the orders table, where order_date is a date column.
select order_date::integer from orders where order_date is not NULL order by 1 asc; -- for what might be an early date problem
select order_date::integer from orders where order_date is not NULL order by 1 des; -- for what might be a late date problem
If that don't work... I guess you're stuck with narrowing down the rowid, which is basically selecting through the data until you find the bad row.

Thanks for the help I got it fixed. select trunc(fmc_date), rowid from fm_cost order by 1 asc The first row had a real large negative number in the fmc_date column. I had to remove it by rowid. Dbexport works now.
