Second Derby/ JavaDB doesn't have a DRDA server, if anything its just a client. IDS has had a DRDA client since 7, maybe even 5 (DRDA Gateway?) but in 11.10, its got an embedded server so that you can connect to IDS via DRDA. The point is that neither the DRDA common interface, nor the Informix JDBC drivers are listed on the netbeans wiki. In the time it took for you to write your post, you could have probably worked on getting the wiki updated or at least e-mailed those in charge with the correct URLs and information to update the wiki.

IDS didn't have a DRDA client. What existed was a different product as you mentioned. > The point is that neither the DRDA common interface, nor the Informix > JDBC drivers are listed on the netbeans wiki. Your posts are longer than mine ;) And this thread appears on the first page of a Google search on "netbeans informix jdbc". Congratulations for your nice job! It would be in your and IBM's best interest if they established a relationship. Perhaps you might want to pass the buck to Rational since they are the guys in charge of tools, but then you'd be left with Informix integration on Eclipse and you'd miss more of the sophisticated market and you'd have to wait for them to get around to supporting Informix. :-)
