Keeping Informix Connection Open

We have a number of web based applications. When a cgi-bin script connects to the database, overhead is incurred. Does anyone know of a way to keep a database connection open so the web server doesn't have to open it each time? Thanks for you help, Lou Person lperson@mcny.com http://www.mcny.com
