Yes.
Run.
Find another tool.
This is seriously meant, and why I posted. (It's quite some time since
I looked at IEF last, but at that time I could see no possible usefull
purpose for it except handing over a tremendous amount of dollars to
TI. I believe it have improved significantly in the meantime though.)
Although I do not realy know a good answer I will however try to give
some clues:
I assume you mean that the sql generated looks something like:
select username.tablename.columnname...
from username.tablename...
as per the ANSI standard.
If a set of tables is accessed by the user who have created them there
is no problem. If someone else is accessing the same table the
application have to know about who created the table and prepend that
username, not the username of the user that now is accessing the
table.
How the ANSI commitee could come up with something like this I have no
clue, but stupid it is. Personal access only to corporate data???
The designers of IEF aren't stupid though, so they knew about this
behaviour when they created the product. There is some standard way of
setting up your environement (outside I-Net of course) that handles
this senario. TI support will know of this.
If they by any chanse shouldn't be able to handle this easily I would
sure start running.
:Thank you.
You are welcome.
:Additional info: OnLine DS, version 7.10.UC2
Be *very* carefull with this version of OnLine. It's old and contains
quite a few bugs. You should definitely upgrade to a newer version.
May be you have to upgrade AIX also to be able to do that. I don't
know, check with Informix.
