Hi All, How is 'sqlerrd[2]' assign serial number? Well, to make it clear, I have two users:A & B open a regular screen to enter data to 'pickup_tab. A opens a screen first, a (serial) number assign as (let say) 10 then later B also opens and an (serial) assigned number is 11. B finished the program but A decided to exit a program (do control-c). My question is what is a last serial number in the 'pickup_tab' table? Thanks, Tah Davis mailto:tdavis@knrq.com, http://www.knrq.com
The next number will be 12. Serials only increment and only guarantee uniqueness with a unique index applied to that field. It does not guarantee that all numbers are sequential (there will be gaps for the scenario described below) Scott M.
