Unfortunately, I've lost the e-mail where Jonathan > gave me the numbers... :-( The limits are in the release note in SERVERS_<majorver>.<minorver> under the $INFORMIXDIR/release directory (7.x puts the files in nested sub-directories by language so for US thats $INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/SERVERS_?.*). For SE the limit is 2^31 rows but is limited by the maximum table size of 2^31 bytes so the practical limit is 1,048,576 pages of data @ 2020 bytes per page less any slack on each page. Slack is 2020%(rowsize+8). So number of rows per page is 2020 / (rowsize + 8) and max rows for you table is: 1048576 pages * rows_per_page. Art S. Kagel
