Informix<->DB2, DDCS/6000

I am looking for info/experiences with Informix and DB2 using DRDA. I understand Informix has a gateway which will pass SQL requests to DB2. What I'm unsure of is whether Informix can be used on an RS/6000 with DDCS/6000 to exploit the DRDA architecture. The goal: have app developers on RS/6000 write an application as if it were hitting Informix. Then, capture the "bind" files from the RS/6000 and statically bind the PLANs on a DB2 system. Then, at run-time use DRDA to access DB2 PLANs from the RS/6000 "Informix" programs. Is this do-able?
