Informix ISQL 4.11.UC1
Informix SE
SCO Unix (sorry, don't know what release)
database has logfile /dblog/prod_acct_db.log
device has 105,000 pages free (i.e. PLENTY o' room)
I try the following:
DELETE FROM foo WHERE status_code = <some constant. e.g. 'S','V', etc.>;
I get...
240: Could not delete a row.
121: ISAM Error: Cannot write log record.
Number of records to be deleted ranges from just over 100 to 78,000.
I've tried linking /dev/null to the logfile to prevent ANY disk access
problems.
No difference.
I AM able to perform the deletes if I break it down into groups of 50.
Basically, I unload the ROWID's into a table and then create "delete from
foo where rowid in (..." so that the deletes occur in groups of 50 or 60.
Am I missing something? Is there a "long transaction" situation in SE
like there is in Online? Is there a way to set the value to permit higher
number of transactions?
This only appears to happen in DELETE's. I can successfully dbload and
commit in groups as high as 1000.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
