Re: Crystal 8.5 and informix database

That's a great idea. And he could also enable the Windows ODBC tracing utility as well. Here's the trick to that: Turn on the ODBC tracing in the ODBC manager first, then launch Crystal Reports and attempt to browse the informix database. If you attempt to turn tracing on after you've started the app that will use the ODBC DLL's the tracing system won't be able to do what it needs and will just sit there acting like it's doing something, when in reality it's not doing squat. And yes, be sure to turn it off soon afterwards, the log file can grow and grow and grow....!!! -- William Fields MCSD - Microsoft Visual FoxPro US Bankruptcy Court Phoenix, AZ "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Benjamin Franklin "superboer" <superboer7@planet.nl> wrote in message news:bb790a36.0504050034.3564b9cd@posting.google.com... > You could set SQLIDEBUG in your env > > eq > assuming windowze and c:\\tmp exist. > > set SQLIDEBUG=2:c\\tmp\\mydbg > > > then use sqliprint (comes with csdk) to see what is in it eq the sql > statements. > > maybe it can give you a hint why you are not seeing things > > do not forget to switch it of. > > Superboer. > > "Paulo Ferreira" <anonimo@clix.pt> wrote in message > news:<42513f09$0$24490$a729d347@news.telepac.pt>... >> Thanks, but once again this is not the case. >> Please continue send more reasons. >> Thanks. >> >> Paulo Ferreira >> >> "SaltTan" <SaltTan@gmail.com> escreveu na mensagem >> news:c131837c.0504040105.14a29be5@posting.google.com... >> > may be these tables have different owner? >> > >> > "Paulo Ferreira" <anonimo@clix.pt> wrote in message >> > news:<424c2209$0$2211$a729d347@news.telepac.pt>... >> >> Thanks, but this is not the case. >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> "William Fields" <Bill_Fields@azb.uscourts.gov> escreveu na mensagem >> >> news:d2h4ti$fu7$1@apollo.nyed.circ2.dcn... >> >> > Could it be that the "tables" you're not seeing are actually >> >> > parameterized >> >> > views? >> >> > >> >> > We had the same issue when browsing Visual FoxPro databases, the >> >> > issue >> >> > turned out to be the views that were missing were parameterized. >> >> > Can't >> >> > remember off the top of my head if it was an OLE DB issue, or a CR >> >> > issue. >> >> > >> >> > -- >> >> > William Fields >> >> > MCSD - Microsoft Visual FoxPro >> >> > US Bankruptcy Court >> >> > Phoenix, AZ >> >> > >> >> > "Beer is proof that God loves us >> >> > and wants us to be happy." >> >> > >> >> > - Benjamin Franklin >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > "Paulo Ferreira" <anonimo@clix.pt> wrote in message >> >> > news:424bd608$0$2194$a729d347@news.telepac.pt... >> >> >> Hello >> >> >> >> >> >> Can someone tell me why, when I try to open a database with a large >> >> >> number >> >> >> of tables, via odbc, more then 60% of the tables are not shown? >> >> >> I'm using Crystal 8.5, Informix 7 and Win XP Pro. >> >> >> Thanks. >> >> >> >> >> >> Paulo Ferreira >> >> >> >> >> > >> >> >
