Can also be that your temp db space is not activated, or is too
small. Informix will default to /tmp if it is not allocated a temp db. I
recently had this problem with /tmp filling up. When I looked in the
config file, the tempdbs was commented out. You should have a couple of
temp db's in a decent sized system.
