Assert Fail I/O Error

All, Has anyone had assert failures (I/O Errors) in HP UX 10.01? Currently running Online DS 7.11UC1. We had a what seemed like a random failure when one of our SCSI drives apparently failed (we have a drive farm of 40 2gig scsi-2 drives in seperate cabinet). The database came off line at about 3am when there is heavy update and insert activity, and posted the I/O error into the log. We restarted the database and everything was fine. The disk is still working and has not caused any problems. I have seen some patches for 10.01 involving SCSI timeouts, etc...could that be the problem??? These kind of errors make me nervous. HP cant do anything till it fails again... Also, does anyone have a list of patches for 10.01 that they recommend before upgrading to ODS 7.2???
