How did you "compile" the stored procedures? If you used isql, try using dbaccess
instead. I've seen simple stored procedures work fine in isql, but any that have return
values usually fail unless I use dbaccess. As for cases 3 and 4 (which look identical),
have you tried specifying a length, i.e. CHAR(14)?
