Help with scrolling within an INPUT ARRAY statement
Posted in 1993
I have a question about scrolling/cursor movement in an input array or a display array statement. I am sure somebody has found a solution to this scenario. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? Situation: In an input array statement, the screen form displays 6 rows. User populates top 2 rows, moves the cursor down to the sixth row. Hits ACCEPT. At this point rows 3, 4, 5 and 6 are empty. The "AFTER INPUT" clause detects an error in the first row and executes a "NEXT FIELD", ie, does not exit the input array statement. Question: How do I take the cursor back to the first row where the error has occurred so that it is easy for the user to correct it? I have unsuccessfully tried to use the scroll statement and at this time I use a rather descriptive error statement - which is not very user friendly. Please note that the above is a simplified picture, we are talking pages after pages of rows in our application. I am sorry if this is a FAQ. Any help is appreciated.
