4gl bug?

I am currently run Informix-4gl version 7.02.UD4, but the program that is being run (from a third party) is compiled under version 7.02.UD2. The problem is in a report of receipts that contains a running total. The local variable statement: LET p_balance = (p_balance + p_items.amount) does not increase the value of p_balance by p_items.amount the value of p_balance is always equal to p_items.amount. According to Informix this is a known bug. Although no one can give me an answer as to if my vendor upgrades to 7.02.UD4 and recompiles the programs will my problem go away. Or do I have to install version 7.02.UD2 onto my system? Any help would keep me from beating my head against the wall telling my vendor that they need to work with Informix and get this problem resolved. They keep telling me its my problem.
