SQL error -408
Posted in 1997
finderr reads something like this: "Invalid message received from sqlexec" Version 5.?? on AIX ?? This happened in a 4GL, but when the query was ported to ISQL, it gave the same result. Taking the order by away alleviated the error, (but was not acceptable); changing the join to an OUTER, worked and was mildly acceptable. I can show you the query if you think it makes a difference, but trust me there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, without the ORDER BY, it returns the same number of rows regardless of whether or not there is OUTER join or not. Is this a known Informix bug? (My only possible conclusion), or is there another explanation. -- - Danny Wright danwright@bigfoot.com #include <stddisclaimers.h> Idiot, n.: A member of a large and powerful tribe whose influence in human affairs has always been dominant and controlling. - Ambrose Bierce, "The Devil's Dictionary"
