I can recomment one last/bad option which I won't recomment if you can find
any better way.
1. Login as informix
2. run dbaccess/isql
2.1. Select * from systables where tabname = " 258";
2.2. If step 2.1 gives only one record then
update systables set tabneme = "A258Junk" where tabname = "258";
2.3 Select * from systables where tabname matches "*258";
This query will display the entry for table A258Junk;
3. Logout from Informix-id, login as DBA and drop that table.
4. Never, ever, think about doing anything like this to systables, because
it is a real bad-idea.
This could be a topic for an Adharma Veda for Informix, so this is bad, you
should never do it.
Adharma Veda is one amoung the four Vedas ( religious books ) of Hindu's,
which describes powerful Mantras which are really bad. Adharma Veda itself,
strongly recommends never to use any of the mantras written in it.
