Re: Informix Data Director for VB

Jean, I asked this same question a little while ago and I got very negative feedback about DD for VB from people. I would recommend avoiding this product. Informix are back tracking quite significantly in the tools department and their future is unsure. Its life span is uncertain and you could get stuck with another unsupported legacy system. Depending on what you are developing and what systems you already have in place, I would suggest among others: Visual Basic (MS are pushing this hard enough that it is unlikely to be a bad choice even if it has limitations). Delphi - I have never used but it is highly spoken of. Visual FoxPro (very very fast, very db orientated, and will converge with VB in the future, although when is another question) SuperNova All these languages are quick to develop in, are fast, and have a stable future.
