Initalisation error

Looks like you did a restore using ontape -r and said 'NO' to restore logfiles. When the restore completed the engine was in Quiescent mode and then you shut it down. If you do not restore logs you MUST bring the engine to full ONLINE mode with 'onmode -m' before you can shut it down or the restore will not be completed. Bringing the engine online completes the fast recovery needed to clean up the log files which is otherwise done as part of restoring logs. Since you did not bring the engine online before shutting down you have to do the restore all over again and this time bring it online before shutting down. The fast recovery to bring it fully online MUST complete before you issue the onmode -ky to shutdown or you will be in the same boat again. So wait until onmonitor or onstat reports the engine status as "OnLine" which is sometime very quick but occassionally, with restores like this, can take several hours if there was a large transaction in the logs on tape that must be rolled back.
