Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Basheer Azeemuddin hit LONGTX on IDS 9.30.UC2 (AIX) during a roughly 100,000-row load. Paul Watson suggested locking the table exclusively, splitting the transaction, or adding logs. Another poster asked about logging type and onstat -l, and advised dbload with periodic commits and sensible extent sizes. Andy Kent questioned the locks suggestion. No confirmed outcome.

days 04:00:45 -- 737696 Kbytes Blocked:LONGTX
Started a load job about 100,000 Records. After few minutes got LONGTX.
How to get out of this.

Lock the table in exclusive mode
or
Split the transaction into smaller parts
or
Add more logs
or
a combination

Well, not really enough information ...
1. What type of logging are you using BUFFERED, UNBUFFERED, NONE?
2. Use dbload, and commit after every "n" records.
3. What does your onstat -l show?
4. Make sure that you have appropriate extent sizes (avoid loads of DDL
logging).

Eh? What's it got to do with locks?
