Re: oncheck performance issuest (fwd)

This was my reply to Joe, since I saw your response on the list, I thought
I better responed to the list also.
The following applies to my configuration that I mention below:
INFORMIX 5.02 UC9 on 580, RS6000 with AIX 3.2
INFORMIX 7.12 UC2 on 43P, RS6000 with AIX 4.1
The 43P is a single CPU machine, I'm not sure about the 580. Anyway...
if there is something I could execute to help you guys out let me know.

I run a pe every morning on my 7.10(now 7.12 as of yesterday) system
that is covering almost 3GB. Now mind you it does not have that
much data (if it has 1GB (being in development, I would be surprised)).
Yet it only take me 30 sec to run a tbcheck -pe. I think you may have something
wrong. You might want to check this out. Now for the tbcheck -cI and -cD
I haven't ran, but I am going to start. If you are interested in my times
let me know.
I am running this process off hours, even the pe (I created a cron to
do this). Anyway....
Even on my 10GB full of data on Informix 5.02 it does not take 5 minutes
to do a tbcheck -pe. I just ran one with 64 active process and it took 30
seconds. Something is up with your system (hum!!!)
