You are confused, probably because you recently upgraded from 5.xx.
Later versions of IDS (7.xx+) do not mark the logs free (flag F) until
the instant before each file is reused then its status is changed from
'B' to 'F' and as soon as he first entry is written to it the status
is cleared to current. This was done so that onlog could display all
logs on disk not just the current log. Not to worry everything is
working fine.
