10.20 / Informix SE Problems

If I try compiling an ESQL/C program (that uses curses) for Informix SE 7.2 on HP-UX 10.20, it doesn't run. Does anyone else have the same problem? If I run the program through the debugger (xdb), it seems that curses is being corrupted. If I recompile the program without curses, it works.
