IDS 11 and Kerberos
Posted in 2008
David asked which Kerberos implementation (MIT or Heimdal), versions and keytab entries IDS 11's libixgss.so library supports; his PMR had not answered it. Manoj Mohan replied MIT Kerberos. Ralf Blankenburg reported Kerberos working on IDS 11.50.FC1 on SLES 10 with PAM in sqlhosts, but his ODBC driver lacked PAM support. TBP asked for the PMR number.

Hello all, So IDS 11 now has Kerberos integration and comes with a library $INFORMIXDIR/lib/csm/libixgss.so for this integration. There are two types of Kerberos (MIT and Heimdal), so for Redhat AS 4 which version of Kerberos did IBM use to build their library? Which Kerberos have they tested against and which ones will they support? MIT or Heimdal or both? And which versions of each? Also apparently there can be different entries in the keytab file, which entries will the Informix library support? I opened a PMR but the IBM support guy did not tell me... Regards, David.

Kerberos is working well on my IDS 11.50FC1 ons SLES 10 SP1 and PAM enabled in sqlhosts. Problem for me was, that our ODBC-Driver did nort support PAM (but no problem with original IFX-Driver).
