RE: move data to new disk

Rhys You need to get into the raid card and reconfigure to mirroring at least or even striped mirrors. You will get advantages of more spindles so that you can separate rootdbs from physdbs from logdbs(s). Also placing temp dbs's on separate spindles and possibly even separating indexes from data. That's before you even look at the advantage of seeing disk write fails immediately rather than getting them sheilded by the raid5 and only realising when performance plummets (or the same area on two disks crunch and takes the lot out !!) That mean config the Raid 1+0(100GB). And mirror the data from 9G to that 100GB HD? Use the Solaris volume manager to mirror or another method? Please advice. Thank you
