Zero Downtime Upgrade
Posted in 2017
Hello, We have an IDS 12.10.FC7 cluster(Primary,HDR,RSS) with 2 connection managers instances and have to upgrade to FC8. I cant do a rolling upgrade because FC8 introduces some changes to some internal structures, so we are pondering about performing the tasks IBM suggest for Zero Downtime Upgrades. Which in a nutshell involves converting a Secondary to ER, upgrade the new ER server, and transfer all connections there. I am trying to get some tips about implementing it from anyone that had done it. Er2Sec make easier to set ER, but still I wonder if there is a way to verify if my configuration is properly sized for the volume of data, we have all Tables with the shadow columns and primary indexes already set. Another area of concern is that we have sequences, which i guess i will have to manually update at the moment of failing over all existing sessions. Any word of wisdom is greatly welcomed. Thanks Walter
