Informix New Era - Will it suit ?

I am in the market for an RDBMS development environment which has: 1) Good connectivity to other RDBMS 2) A point and shoot GUI development environment 3) Able to generate both standalone executables and C/C++ source 4) Has cross paltform support (Unix/Solaris, DOS/Windows, Windows NT et al and etc) 5) Has an integrated set of tools (debuggers, profilers etc) 6) Has support for multimedia (sound, animation, video etc) 6) Doesn't cost and arm and a leg My platform is a bells and whistles PC (32 Mg Ram, Pentium 66 Mhz complete with flaw, 1 Gb Harddisk, SCSI controller, PCI bus, CD-ROM) running DOS/Windows, Windows NT and OS/2. I am prepared to run a partition for the database to simulate client server etc. What I want to know is: a) Does New Era fit the bill ? b) What do I need to run it ? c) How much ?? d) What are the gotchas ??
