Fw: Connection type for transaction...
Posted in 2001
Hi Listers,
I was executing a restore script that drops the target table and the loads
the records from an ascii file 300 at a time using dbload.
This is the result of running the following commands.
Since the data is being loaded into a table located on the same machine as
the Informix instance (IDS 7.30 UC3), I thought it would be more efficient
to use the shared memory connection. I know the NETTYPE parameters define
the different type of connections, but what determines the type of
connection to use (we have one CPU) for a given SQL statement? Is there a
default setting?

Hey, I just noticed that I have the NET type associated with "ipcshm" and it
should be associated with "tlitcp" right?
What is the negative impact of a setting like this?
Thanks in advance for your time.
