Gauker, Per your question about moving to Informix or cobol I received this from Jennifer Hayes at Informix. I don't know anything about the product but if it works it seems like it could give you the best of both worlds. A simple translation of the Cobol while still allowing you to move to Informix for enhancements and long term transition. I suggest you check it out, it may still require changes in the file formats currently defined though. Informix also has a product called ESQL/Cobol which works with Micro-Focus and Ryan-McFarland Cobol's but you have to replace all the file handling statements in the Cobol with SQL statements which can require restructuring the entire code (Not a nice solution this looks better). > From infmx!jenh@uunet.UU.NET Sun Dec 15 21:20:27 1991 > From: jenh@informix.com (Jennifer Heggie) > Message-Id: <9112160507.AA01070@cobra> > Subject: Re: i4gl question.
